Beneficial electrification is driving greater adoption of heat pumps for use in winter-peaking markets. In 2022, Hydro Quebec launched a very successful program that was designed to aid in the transition from fossil fuels to electric powered heating across the province. This workshop session will examine their technology R&D and program development efforts to deliver the energy efficiency benefits of heat pumps with electric thermal storage to minimize overloading the grid capacity.
